Description

Fabric for a plaid sarong (tembe paleka). Two lengths of fabric, not yet sewn together to form sarong. Coarse cotton (kafa galia), woven using a warp comb (cau). Local indigo dye, commercial orange and rose dyes. Made in 1982, Larodu hamlet. Black, with orange, rose, white balanced plaid. Rose back panel with narrow blue and white stripes. Rose border stripes. Very stiff.
