Description | Globular body, cylindrical neck, two vertical loop handles shoulder o neck, plain red vase painted with white stripes Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a red slip and white lines painted on the handles, down the body, and around the join of the neck to the body. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom of base. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3134a." |
