Description | Light cane shaft, long wooden point with 3 barbs carved in the wood on one side at some distance from the top. The insertion of the point in the shaft is wrapped spirally with plant cuticle. The split feathers (2) are attached as in 29-94-66; cf. 29-94-64 and 65, which have a slightly different type of feathering. The shallow nock is rounded. Arrows having this type of point and of feathering are found in Angola. See Frobenius and v. Wilm, Atlas Africanus, VI, B1. 35 and B1. 33-4, esp. fig. 148. |
