Description | Intricately carved wooden box that is essentially two squares on top of each other. The bottom square being the base, the middle section of each face is carved out giving it a four legged look. The top square is the actual container, it is separated into three compartments by wood pieces, two small compartments and one larger one. This is used to hold the bride price (sin sot สินสอด) and tobacco brought by the groom to the bride's mother. It was approximately 70-80 years old at the time of its acquisition in 1981. |
