Description | Black, fine grained rock with concoidal fracture (chert or volcanic origin). One edge is straight for approx. one-half its length and concave for the other half. The other edge is convex for approx. one-half its length and concave for the other half. In outline, the artifact has an "S" shape. Both edges have large, steep flakes, which extend over the entire surface and small flakes at the intersection of the ventral and dorsal surfaces. |
