Description | A loosely woven slightly hour glass shaped spool with a tighter weave on the narrowed neck and widened lip. The closed end is rounded off and the spool stands on the lip. A support crosses the neck - a piece of bamboo with a hole in the center. A similar, but smaller piece is tied inside the closed end. Probably to allow the spool to be held on a stick. This is used for spinning thread. |
