Description | Catfish trap in the form of cylindrical basket with wood supports at the ends and the center. The bottom has opening with sticks pointing inward. The interior at the bottom is a small chamber. The top has a loose lid. There is a basketry loop handle at the center support. It is usually wrapped in banana leaves, baited with termites, and staked in some water. It is used in August and September and placed in a medium sized stream which is swelling from seasonal rains. |
