Description | Convex pyxis with upright handles. Complete except for missing lid. Broad, spreading foot and broad, rounded body. Gently sloping shoulder, low, collar rim and hole mouth. Two loop handles on shoulder, rising vertically. Cream slip. Glaze fired red: on exterior of foot; a band around lower body; 3 glazed lines around outer shoulder; tongue pattern on shoulder; exterior of collar rim glazed; upper part of handles glazed. |
