Description | Globular body with ring foot closed below for rattle. Small, a face on cylindrical neck. Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, flaring neck, rounded rim, no handles, and a rattle base. The vessel has a modeled and incised face on the neck. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1591." |
