Description

Red ware; globular body; painted with four triangles in black with white lines radiating from neck; broken.

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, no handles, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a red slip and is painted with four triangles around the neck in black and white. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the interior of neck. No other numbers are visible on the object.
