Description | Plain. Incurved rim. Bowl with a globular body, no neck/collar, rounded rim, no handles, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a red slip (?). There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior and is smoothed with a rotative movement on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the base. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom/base. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1633c." |
