Description

Flat base, depressed body, neck with everted lip, two vertical handles on body, plain black jar

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, hyperboloid neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. There are no molded/modeled additions and no decoration. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere as the surface is black and the interior is gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2851."
