Description | Miniature clay jug, melon segments incised, tapering neck, vertical loop handles on body Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, tapered neck, flattened rim, 1 strap handle on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. miniature. There are incised lines down the body representing a melon. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2631a." |
