Description

Globular body, flat base; flaring neck; one vertical loop handle shoulder to neck. painted red black and white.

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a squat-globular body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted with vertical bands of color and alternating bands of wavy lines in red, black, and white. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Evidence of usewear includes black staining on the interior. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1639."
