Description | One end of the plate broken off; otherwise intact. Narrow, slightly convex plate to fit against the outer edge of the rim of a bronze vessel, fastened by two pegs or rivets of bronze, which remain. Projecting upward and outward from the top at the center, an animals head, roughly done without details. The Roman nose suggests that the animal intended is a horse. |
