Description | Sommerville: Oriental alabaster. Trajan bestowing the Conciario - the distribution of grain to the people. Cameos, Case IIII. Vermeule: (Unmounted) Cameo. Copy from an Aurelian relief incorporated in the attic of the Arch of Constantine, Rome. Marcus Aurelius in civic garb, seated on a circle chair flanked by civic officials. He is bestowing largess upon four citizens and two children in the foreground. |
