Description | The light iron point is fastened in a short wooden forshaft, the insertion being reinforced with a binding of fibre cord coated with a resinous substance. The whole is detachable, the lower end of the foreshaft fitting loosely into the top of the cane shaft, which is reinforced with a binding of plant cuticle. The forshaft is held by a long plaited leash of fibre cord which is caught at each end under the binding of shaft and foreshaft. The point proper is barbed at the base, bilaterally, and there is another pair of bilateral barbs on the shank of the pint, arranged in a plane at right angles to that of the first pair. The shaft is undecorated; there are no feathers and no nock. |
