Description

Three dimensional puppet with wooden torso, wooden head, wooden arms, articulated at shoulder and elbows, cotton skirt from waist down. Puppet is held and operated by a wooden stick which passes through a hole in the torso and into the base of the head and by sticks attached to the hands. Very large head. Face pale blue, arms and hands gold. Round black eyes, large bulbous nose, red lips, five fands. Smooth black hair in bun at nape. Face and hair much chipped. Red ornaments at upper arms and wrists. Wrists flexed. Plain, loose, black velvet jacket with silver cloth collar. Batik skirt; large light brown/purple/green/red flowers and leaves (colored areas with small cream dots). Skirt soiled, stiched to mend tears, small holes throughout.
