Description | Red pot with encircling relief ornamentation, rays and dots, bulging neck, two vertical loop handles on shoulder Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a carinated body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a raised dot and line design around the shoulder and is slipped. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a scraped finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2865c." |
