Description | Round bottom; globular body merging into contracting neck; row of triangular protuberance encircle lower neck. Wide mouthed vessel with a globular body, tapered collar, rounded rim, no handles, and a rounded base. The vessel has spike-like triangular protrusions around the bottom of the collar. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a scraped finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is buff in color. Fireclouding is present on the base. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1643." |
