Description

Water buffalo shoe. Frompa Kerban. Thick rectangular pad made of soft, folded woven matting, with a raised loop of rattan peel, partially wrapped with strips of cloth, for one claw of the buffalo's hoof to fit into. Water buffalo are shod for walking on roads: the collector said that these were made by a man he met in a bazaar, to shoe his buffalo for the trip back home.
