Description | This is an orange ware bottle with a short (3.2 cm) narrow neck, flaring rim, elongated globular body, and a flat base. There is a single vertical handle from the rim to the upper shoulder. Maximum width occurs at about the mid-point in height of the vessel. The body is burnished in such a way as to create a checker-board effect when one looks closely at the burnishing stroke (pattern-burnished). |
