Description | Black painted pottery. Intact save for one handle broken off and glued on. Ring foot. Rounded body rising to sharply set off shoulder. Shoulder rises at very low angle. Articulation between shoulder and low lip concave in profile. On each side a loop handle rises vertically from the outer shoulder and just touches the lip. Glaze probably dipped leaving lower wall and entire foot outside and underside unglazed. Traces of pink color at join of foot and lower wall. Fine buff clay. Some thin incrustation. Very well made. |
