Description | Circular, of knotted netting, with lead weights tied to a stout twist of oil palm fiber which is passed through the meshes of the circumference. To the center is tied a stouter string of the same material by which the net, carefully folded and gathered up, is whirled about the head of the caster, so that it spreads out and falls in a circle on the water. Carried down by the weights and folding up in the process it catches whatever fish are under it and do not swim fast enough to escape. |
