Description | Squarish rounded bottom with pointed corners, round top, fairly straight sides; cane; twilled plaiting in under 4 over 4 weave. Overlal decoration formed by half the strips being dyed red on rough side. Inside basket, the red is very faded and only shows on some of the strips. Dye is probably aniline since it is faded so much. Rim: finished by winding the strips in a double interlocking row. |
