Description | Clavi from Tunic. Rose bud motif "copied" from Sassanian designs. Not obviously wool/linen. Maybe all wool. Fragment of 2 bands each with pendant and leaf medallion. Warp: \ wool; yellow Weft: \ linen; ud: \ wool; yellow, red, dark-green-blue, blue-green, brown-purple, brown. Techique: Tapestry over 1 warp. Emb. with linen. Plain purple borders and red grounds with conventional plant forms. |
