Description

Complete. Wheelmade. Pebbles(?) fired inside. Flat base. Globular body with GD near top. At each end of body, a spout with rather long neck and flat rim. One is closed and perforated at rim, the other is closed and perforated at bottom of neck. Double roll bridge handle between necks, attached along neck bases, rising up almost to rims. Brown-black curvilinear/geometric decoration with added orange and pink (very worn). On base, wheel design within faded border. On lower body, vegetal patterns arranged by size, tallest two on opposite sides, at right angles to spouts. Above this decoration is in registers of waves with peaks over tall flowers, separated by double lines. Spouts similarly decorated but in straight registers, no waves. Black short strokes on rims, orange area in center. Area between spouts has concave-sided rectangular pattern. Heavy to medium fabric. Fairly fine clay, fired drab buff-brown, with very fine mica.
