Description | Globular grey pot with rounded bottom. Sue ware (須恵器) known as Hasō (はそう,瓦泉). Pot is folded in upon itself at narrow neck and shoulder. A pair of incised lines and impressed diagonal markings around shoulder. Wide at rim. Raised ridge at center of rim and each area has a band of incised wavy lines. Bottom of interior is impressed with curved markings probably from support in paddling. Round hole in side of pot appears to have been made prior to firing. Thin glaze. Mottled surface. Drip like marks on side at shoulder. |
