Description | Wooden Katsina doll. The face is painted white with a red and blue circle on each cheek. The mouth is a protruding snout. A multicolored horn is attached to one side of the head. Feathers are attached to the top and back of the head. The body is painted white and red with yellow and blue arms. This figure may be a type of Havasupai (Konin) Katsina who represents the Havasupai people. (Colton, H. 1959 #143, Wright, B., 1973 #184) |
