Description | Paper scroll. Kakemono, a golden disc in the shape of the Buddhist symbolic jewel "Hoshu-no-tama" - is topped by the bust of small figure holding the same form of jewel. Clouds extend from it to right and leftto a white disc - moon,- left; sun, right. The large gilded disc is a background for a central half figure of Buddhist deity with eight arms and hands holding symbols. Two halos overlapping outline the figure which is surrounded by small figures shown with many of these same jewel-like forms. Sea or cloud forms in green surround the disc with its figures. 2 small figures stand in clouds below the large disc. A signature or short column of writing is between. |
