Description | Large Lacondon pottery drum, with spout -form rising from juncture of cylindrical neck and globular body, with face of the god on rim of the "spout" ; also with small cup-like projection containing rremains of incense at juncture of body and neck. This piece is identical with "Qaiyum", the "Singing God" of the Lacondones described by Tozzer except for the receptical for incense and the type of the face. Remnants of thick white paint or plaster adhering; no slip. Broken in transit, repaired. |
