Description | One end (the stern?) of a dugout canoe with gently inclined prow and stern that has been sawn across the width. Peel handle through holes on either side. One side broken off - attached to main piece only by this peel handle. One edge burnt. Red, black and white pigments. Outside of gunwales decorated with relief design with unraised areas pigmented black and white on red background (similar to decoration on other segment). Inside of gunwales decorated at intervals with opposed pairs of red and black concentric circles. |
