Description | Spherical body, funnel shaped neck, painted red clay jar, two twisted loop handles shoulder to neck Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 2 twisted handles extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The handles are twisted and there is a band of painted geometric design around the body in black and white. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3238." |
