Description

Kalaga, wall hanging. Large cloth depicting a scene from the Vidura Jataka. Figures of Virunana, the Naga-raja at left, Minister Vidura, the bodhisattva in wun attire sits in the center and Suppana (Garuda) king is at right. Six parrots above the human figures. Sixteen kethayaza chinthes, Burmese lions, five on each side and six in front. Couching stitch used throughout with colored braid, sequins and paste jewels.
