Description | Representing a bird; with flaring neck of vessel on bird's back and a third leg support. Red-White-Black Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an effigy-zoomorphic body (shaped like a bird), flaring neck, rounded rim, no handles, and a footed base. The vessel is shaped like a bird with three legs. The vessel is painted red, white, and black to delineate the features of the bird. There are black painted lines representing the birds feathers on the wings. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base. No other numbers are visible on the object. |
