Description | Rim set off by external groove; top bevelled to slope inward; disk base slightly concave underneath; rouletting (faint) in 6 horizontal bands, one at angle, 3 above, 2 below. Fine hard clay, light brown, with some mica; Ext. and int. brown and grayish wash, much gone from outside; thin fabric, dented on one side, from prefiring accident. Shape early roman, fabric ware suggestive of Hell. One side mended, piece and chips missing. |
