Description | Pottery. Fabric like MS1199 but covered with a cream slip over which the design is painted in red. Two bulbs handmade, the rest wheel-made. Base built in two tiers: a horizontal ridge on the exterior, intended to conceal the join, is placed too high. Decoration: triangular perforation in the tiers of the base; painted rectangles filled with diagonals and parallel chevrons on base and top; checkered rectangles on lower bulb; waved lines on upper; a zigzag line on the margin of base; double zigzag below lip; red hands on upper surface of flaring top which is grooved. |
