Description | Tomb 2B = Herscher Tomb 802B. Red polished III juglet. Quite soft very light brown clay with black inclusions. Thin orange-red to brown slip with little lustre. Round base, globular body; cylindrical neck, short cutaway spout; high vertical handle, oval in section, rising from rim to upper body. Incised decoration: on either side of neck and upper body, a vertical row of alternating double hatching. Cf. 815B.25; _SCE_ IV:1A, fig. LXX.3. |
