Description

Round, deep ladle/dipper. Strap handle curves down slightly and widens towards its flat edge.

There is a break in the handle that has been mended with a copper (?) rod. A thick layer of black paint has been applied over a light terracotta fabric in order to give it the appearance of bucchero. The fabric is exposed where the paint has chipped off. The shape and coarseness of the piece suggests that it may have been made from a mould of a genuine example.
