Description

Sommerville: Onyx. Commodus, eighteenth Emperor of Rome. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case Q.

Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Unmounted). Laureate draped bust of a bearded man to right., the features suggest the Emperor Commodus, Sommerville's identification. 19th century, in a somewhat Baraque style.
