Description | Ornamented Gourds. With burnt decoration. Used for storage of small articles; some were also used for storing oil. Geometric incised and blackened decoration. Four panels each containing a large X are incised around body of the gourd; in between two of these panels are a diamond motif with cross hatch pattern in the back ground and blackended V shapes, layered; six pointed cut out at top.One brass-headed nail in rim of box. |
