Description | Square, rounded bottom, high inward sloping sides, round top, cane, twilled plaiting with bottom in an under 3-over 3 weave, these being contracted around sides to make them smaller with the result that the number of vertical strips vaires from 2 to 5 toward top. Decoration by dying inside of horizontal strips dark brown and using it in alternating bands of first every other stip then everyone, etc, forming 4 bands around sides. Rim: finished with double row of cane wrapping. High loop handle of number of strips looped under rim and closely wrapped. |
