Description | Round. Plaited. Ash. Small. Has a "shelf" with upper portion being larger than bottom. Finely made with very narrow horizontal splints; verti-cala split to become smaller on upper part; bottom verticals start from a radiating circle; ther is a double bottom of radiating verticals on the outside also. These outside verticals are carved to flare thus forming the circle as they move toward outside of bottom. RIm is bound with hoops. Decorated with shells or curliques (also called porcupine work); 2 rows of shell on upper part, skipping every other vertical and one row (on alter-nate horizontals) around shelf bottom. Torn around shelf. |
