Description | Ornamented Gourds. With burnt decoration. Used for storage of small articles; some were also used for storing oil. Geometric incised and blackened decoration. Five panels each containing a large X, made up of double lines, are incised around body of the gourd; also four triangles, one one each side, cross hatched pattern in center; between two of the panels, there is a vertical row of diamond shapes, cross hatched pattern in the background; serated cut out at top. |
