Description | (Called "Apron of cedar bark" on Heye list) Checker-work matting, double thickness. Stripes on one side dived to 1/2 widyh of those on other. Made in manner of double mat except center section not started until half of lenght completed. (Rectangular section below covers the back, long side strips at top for shoulders). 2 layers joined at top of shoulder strips and top of center section due to method o weaving but in addition loosely twined together on undersurface in a line from top of center section to side edges. Decoration: pair of contiguous harrow black warps next to outer edge of shoulder strips, and on large checker side continuing to base. Top of shoulder strips has black weft on small checker side. Fringe across bottom |
