Description | Ornamented Gourds. With burnt decoration. Used for storage of small articles; some were also used for storing oil. Geometric incised and blackened decoration. Five panels each containing a large X are incised around body of the gourd; checkered, diamond motif in the upper and lower part; columns in between each panel. Stem end cut out leaving a serrated rim. Lid missing. Incised and blackened geometric decoration. |
