Description | Three non-joining sherds from one or more semiglobular cups with large everted rims. Fine, light brown (7.5 YR 6/4) clay with a paler surface, with decoration in reddish brown paint. Wiped with water and burnished. Interior painted. Band on rim; crocus (FM 10) flanked by groups of crescents; bands below. Not from the same cup as MS4637.11 and MS4637.110, as previously suggested (Silverman 1978 a: 70-71). For the motif see vol. I, no. 28, and the discusssion of Niemeier 1980: 22-23. |
