Description | A carved white marble statue of a frog. It has the features of a frog which are carved in low relief to blend with the overall shape of the curved stone in a stylized, geometric manner. It has large back legs and indented holes for eyes. The front and bottom are flat and smooth. Two other known examples of frogs in this style were published as dating to before the Shang Dynasty (1600–1046 BCE). |
