Description | Thick, heavy double face weave The middle and main section of this heavy thick belt is roughly 73 cm. The cords measure approx. 43 cm and 37 cm. If the piece is laid out flat, the piece measures 153 cm. The collection card mentions that this piece is a "cotton, thick heavy double face weave". The double face weave technique is most likely accurate as the repetitive black and red pattern is opposite on the verso. At either end are cords attached to the bound ended of the belt. These cords terminate in "tassels" with additional twisted brown fibers that are wrapped around the cord. Color(s): Main section is patterned in red and black repetitive design (bird?) with the edging in tan, brown and red. The cords on either end are in a black and brown repetitive design along the length of the cord. The attached wrapped element at the end of the cord and above the tassel is a medium brown. |
