Description | Rim-sherd from a teapot. Medium textured, unevenly colored clay, dark brown (7.5 YR 4/4) to black, wiht a black surface, with light and dark inclusions, covered with black paint, wiht decoration in added white paint. Added white: dots on top of rim; two bands at rim; part of another design below. East Cretan White-on-dark Ware. The shape was probably like Seager 1912: fig. 49, no. M74 (Mochlos). |
